TOGETHER you stand strong. Three photographers from São Paulo teamed up to form the CIA de Foto collective. In their work they avoid the clichéd subjects that all too often come to the fore in Brazilian photography: violence, misery and poverty. The series on this page was made in São Paulo main thoroughfare, Avenida Paulista. At some points during the day the sunlight does not reaches the street directly. Passers-by only see the light that is reflected from the glass office buildings. Be sure to check out their series of trash containers. I have never seen waste been photographed so glamorous before.
